Some say that it is impossible to live without air, others, more romantic, say that without love. We, in turn, want to show you today that you cannot live without a functioning immune system. However, is it worth stimulating it if it does not work as it should? And if not, is there another way to support the immune system? Check how we will answer these questions.
The immune system is a network of cells, tissues, proteins and organs that work together to protect you against bacteria, viruses and parasites. When a dangerous invader appears, a properly functioning immune system launches a defense system that defeats the enemy. The immune system has two types of immunity - innate and adaptive.
Innate immunity is the one you are born with. It is she who is the first line of defense against infections. At the time of the attack, the innate immunity quickly tries to literally throw the infection out of your body with a runny nose or destroy it with a high temperature - fever.
In turn, you acquired adaptive immunity during your life through contact with diseases and thanks to vaccines. This type of immunity works more intelligently than your younger colleague. Instead of making your life uncomfortable with bothersome symptoms, adaptive immunity produces precise weapons - antibodies that kill the enemy and get rid of bodies so that there is no trace of the crime.
Unfortunately, adaptive immunity takes about a week to determine which antibodies are needed and to produce them in sufficient quantity. Until then, your health depends entirely on innate immunity.
This is a vague term. If you stimulated your immune system, primary immunity would work, which would keep you going with a runny nose, fever, you would be tired and in a depressed mood. Drugs and supplements known to modern medicine support the immune system in a more targeted and subtle way.
For example, vaccines contain harmless versions of germs that usually carry infectious diseases, such as rubella, for example. Adaptive immunity fights them and in this way learns to overcome this type of disease. Thanks to this, he learns what antibodies to produce and in what quantities. Thanks to this, the next time a child or adult attacks this disease in a full, threatening version, adaptive immunity reacts faster than usual and overcomes the disease before it fully develops.
This example shows that substances that really improve immunity support the immune system, instead of artificially stimulating it to work, which could be even harmful. The immune system contains different types of cells that fight germs in many ways. Stimulating them all would be pointless at the same time, and your body would quickly get rid of them in a process called apoptosis. From this it follows that it is best not to disturb the immune system, and if it helps, then in an intelligent way, using precisely acting substances with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory or antiviral effect.
Unfortunately, there are diseases that disrupt the immune system. Belong to them:
Lifestyle has a big impact on how the immune system works. If you want to improve your immunity:
Easier to read than to do? Modern lifestyle, noise, deadlines at work or lack of time are not conducive to good immunity. Fortunately, there are many substances that will help you survive the autumn-winter season and spring without colds, but you will read about it in the next article.
